We sure enjoyed getting to know this sweet couple AND to learn more about their story. We hope you enjoy reading the full story of how they met, their proposal and our viewpoint of their wedding.

Sarah lived in Austin until 2009 when she moved to College Station to attend Blinn College. While in school, she worked for the Aggie swim club where she coached the novice program and summer swim camps every year.

Danny lived in Katy until 2006 when he moved to College Station to attend Texas A&M University. He was a member of the Flying Club, served on the board, and obtained his private pilot’s license. He also drove buses for the Texas A&M transit services and was asked to drive one of the buses for the Aggie football team for two years for the Spirit Walk before every home game on campus.

How They Met

Danny and Sarah met during a summer Texas A&M University Swim Camp in June 2009. Sarah was working as a swim coach for the camp and Danny was driving the Texas A&M Transit charter buses for the camp, driving the coaches and kids back and forth to the pool on campus. Towards the end of swim camp, Sarah managed to get Danny's cell phone number and began texting him. After swim camp and for the rest of the summer, they dated and later in August, started their relationship. Sarah and Danny have been inseparable ever since.

The Proposal

Danny proposed to Sarah on a Texas A&M Transit charter bus, which is how they met exactly five years before. Sarah made plans to go shopping with a friend that day and planned on taking the Aggie bus to get there since the shop was near campus, but Sarah didn't know that Danny had her friend in on the surprise proposal. When the Aggie bus pulled up to the bus stop, Sarah walked up the steps and saw that not only was Danny kneeling down on one knee in a black tux, but that the whole family was on the bus as well, waiting to see Sarah's reaction. Sarah was completely surprised and in shock. After Sarah said YES and Danny gave her the ring, everyone rode in the Aggie bus that Danny had chartered for the afternoon, all the way to Brenham, TX to eat dinner at the Brenham Airport Southern Flyer diner. Danny planned to have dinner at this exact restaurant because Sarah was the first girl he took flying with him; their first flight together was to the Brenham Airport diner. Danny also ordered Sarah's favorite cake, Lemon Dobasch, for the celebration from a specialty bakery located in Baton Rouge, LA. Sarah thought the whole proposal was perfectly planned, right down to the personal and sentimental details.

The Wedding

The weather looked as though it wouldn’t cooperate for us that day. It was a beautiful, cloudy morning for set up and decorations. About 45 minutes before the ceremony began, the heavens opened and it began to pour. I had bragged at the rehearsal that I had never had a wedding rained out in the 15 years that I have been coordinating. I was about to make the call for the wedding to be moved to the back porch, and Danny approached me with the weather radar on his phone showing that the storms would pass in about 10 minutes. He stated that he would rather postpone the ceremony by 10 or 15 minutes so that Sarah could have her dream of getting married in front of the 7F chapel. About 5 minutes before the ceremony was to begin, the rain stopped. My staff quickly dried off the benches and we started the ceremony. It didn’t rain the rest of the night.
