Alain and Martine
June 4, 2018
This wedding was really special because my husband and I were asked to be the best man and matron of honor! Alain and Martine came to our church after they moved to the United States about 4 years ago. They are from the Republic of the Congo in Africa, and Alain literally won the lottery to be able to come to the U.S. They were legally married in Africa, but Alain desired to have a church wedding and celebrate their love with all of their American friends. And they wanted to do all of the typical American wedding traditions!
My team did an amazing job coordinating the festivities so that I could fulfill my role as matron of honor. I’d actually never been a maid or matron of honor before, but have obviously seen numerous ladies in that roll, so it was really fun for me. The couple have two daughters together, and they enjoyed the party as well. We feel so blessed to have been a part of such a memorable day for our friends.
